Gunsan's sights fall into five areas: the Old Downtown, the Gogunsan Islands, Eunpa, Saemangeum–Bieung and the Geumgang River
- We set five reference points for the areas: Modern History Museum (old downtown), Seonyudo Island (Gogunsan), Eunpa Lake Park (Eunpa), Saemangeum Bieung Park (Saemangeum and Bieung) and Geumgang Future Experience Center (Geumgang).
- Each sight is grouped with the reference point closest to it in a straight line.
- Places more than 12 km from every reference point are set apart as 'far islands'.
- Places without coordinates follow the area that most places in the same eup, myeon or dong belong to.
- On this basis, Gunsangak's 160 sights are 43 in Geumgang, 42 in the old downtown, 35 in Gogunsan, 28 in Eunpa, 8 in Saemangeum and Bieung, and 3 on the far islands.
- Helicopter Experience Flight and Pilot Training, 1 place, has no coordinates and cannot be grouped by eup, myeon or dong, so we gave it no area.
- From Modern History Museum, the old downtown reference point, Eunpa Lake Park is about 4.5 km away in a straight line and Geumgang Future Experience Center about 5.8 km.
- Saemangeum Bieung Park is about 16.4 km away and Seonyudo Island about 33.6 km (actual travel distance differs).
- The places below were chosen from those with at least two of these confirmed: hours, closing days, fees and parking.
- Places that overlap with Gunsan City Culture and Tourism's day courses (A, B and C) are gathered by course in the last paragraph.
