Where to stay on Gunsan's official 1-night, 2-day and 2-night, 3-day courses
Gunsan City Culture and Tourism lists three 1-night, 2-day courses, A, B and C, and one 2-night, 3-day course.
On Courses A and B, the first day covers Seonyudo Island, Jangjado Island and Daejangdo Island and ends watching the sunset on the islands. Course C does not go to the islands; it passes the modern-era stops and Lee Yeong-chun House and ends the first day with the night view at Eunpa Lake Park. Choose your lodging to match where the first day ends. On the island side, you can find Seonyudo Resort and Sinsido National Recreational Forest in Okdo-myeon. For Course C, look in Naun-dong, where Eunpa Lake Park is (16 places by address). The 13 guesthouses, urban homestays and lodgings around the modern-era stops all have check-in at 15:00. The Modern History Museum, the Modern Architecture Museum, the Modern Art Museum, the Honam Customs Museum, the Japanese-style House in Sinheung-dong and Lee Yeong-chun House are closed every Monday. So avoid starting Course A on a Sunday and Course C on a Monday.

FAQ
What 1-night, 2-day courses are there in Gunsan?
Gunsan City Culture and Tourism has three 1-night, 2-day courses. Course A goes around Seonyudo Island, Jangjado Island and Daejangdo Island on the first day and ends with the sunset over the Mangjubong Peak area. On the second day it covers 12 old downtown sights, from the Modern History Museum to Susi Tower in Wolmyeong Park. Course B goes around Gogunsan Islands on day 1 and checks into lodging after the sunset at the Jangjado Island skywalk. On day 2 it takes a cruise and goes to Munyeodo Island, the Saemangeum Seawall and Bieung Mapaji Trail (plan 1), or to the Bangchukdo Island suspension bridge (plan 2). Course C skips the islands and covers the old downtown, Lee Yeong-chun House, Eunpa Lake Park, Susi Tower in Wolmyeong Park and the waterside road at Cheongamsan Mountain. source 1
What is the order of the Gunsan 2-night, 3-day course?
Gunsan City's 2-night, 3-day course covers the old downtown from the Modern History Museum to Mallaengi Village on the first day. In the evening, you see the night views at places such as Haemanggul Tunnel, Susi Tower in Wolmyeong Park and Eunpa Lake Park. The second day starts at Gyeongam-dong Railroad Village and Lee Yeong-chun House and passes Bieung Mapaji Trail and the Sinsi Sluice Gate on the Saemangeum Seawall. It then passes Jwittongseom Islet on Munyeodo Island and Seonyu Sky Sunline and ends with the sunset at Myeongsasimni Beach on Seonyudo Island. The last part is either a climb of Daejangbong Peak on Daejangdo Island and a cruise (plan 1), or a passenger ship from the Jangjado Island car ferry wharf to the Bangchukdo Island suspension bridge (plan 2, reservations at 063-464-4614). source 2
How do I avoid Monday closures on a 1-night, 2-day Gunsan trip?
The Modern History Museum, the Honam Customs Museum, the Modern Architecture Museum, the Modern Art Museum, the Japanese-style House in Sinheung-dong and Lee Yeong-chun House are closed every Monday. Course A visits these stops on the second day and Course C on the first day, so avoid starting Course A on a Sunday and Course C on a Monday. The 2-night, 3-day course has the museums on the first day and Lee Yeong-chun House on the second day, so starting on either Sunday or Monday means some places are closed. Starting between Tuesday and Saturday avoids the Monday closings. source 3
Are there places to stay on the Gogunsan Islands?
On the lodging list, 1 place has an Okdo-myeon address: Seonyudo Resort. It is on Seonyubuk-gil, like Seonyu Sky Sunline, with parking for 100 cars.
