A car-free day trip to Gunsan: the weekend city tour bus and city buses
There are two ways to see Gunsan in a day without a car.
On Saturday and Sunday, a reservation-only city tour bus leaves Gunsan Intercity Bus Terminal (09:30) or Gunsan Station (10:00), covers the Gogunsan Islands and the Time Travel Village area, and returns to the terminal at 17:00. The individual fare is 5,000 won for adults. Without the tour, walk between 7 old-downtown sights from the Modern History Museum to Dongguksa Temple, and reach Seonyudo Island and Jangjado Island by city bus with one transfer from Gunsan Station or the terminal. The old downtown's museum, art museum and architecture museum and the Japanese-style House in Sinheung-dong close every Monday, so plan walking days for Tuesday–Sunday.
