A Threshold-Free Path for Three Generations Walking Side by Side: Gunsan Made Easy for Children and Parents
We picked barrier-free family destinations in Gunsan with stroller and wheelchair rental and no step at the main entrance.

On a family trip where three generations move together, from young children to elderly parents, a single step or threshold decides how tiring the day is.
Based on the Korea Tourism Organization's barrier-free tourism data, we chose seven barrier-free sights in Gunsan with ramps at the main entrance, stroller and wheelchair rental, level deck roads and large parking lots.

“A good family destination is not one built for the fastest pace. It is a place where the path opens to the slowest steps and the height of a wheel.”
Exhibition Halls on Haemangno and the Geumgang River with Stroller and Wheelchair Rental and Step-Free Entrances
We suggest the Gunsan Modern History Museum as the first stop of a family trip not only for the depth of its exhibits but also for its solid walking-friendly facilities. It has ample accessible parking spaces, and the main entrance has no step, so wheels roll in smoothly. You can rent strollers and wheelchairs at the information desk. Every floor has an elevator, accessible restrooms and even a nursing room, so all three generations are comfortable.
In the Geumgang River estuary area, the Geumgang Future Experience Center and the Chae Man-sik Literature Museum also have ramped main entrances with no step, and they are fully equipped with accessible parking spaces and accessible restrooms. Children can satisfy their curiosity with the hands-on exhibits at the Future Experience Hall, while grandparents can take their time with the panoramic river view and literary exhibits at the Chae Man-sik Literature Museum.

A Step-Free Deck Road over the Lake and a Flat Track Walk
For an outdoor walk, the place where wheels move most freely is Eunpa Lake Park Mulbit Bridge. The bridge and the whole waterside trail are linked by a gentle deck road, so pushing a stroller or wheelchair across the middle of the lake is no strain. You can rent a wheelchair (1 available) at the management office, and there are accessible parking spaces (3) and accessible toilets.
Gyeongam-dong Railroad Village near the old downtown and the Teddy Bear Museum on Guyeong 7-gil also suit a family route. Gyeongam-dong Railroad Village was once a working rail line, so its path runs flat with no steep slopes or stairs. The Teddy Bear Museum has a ramp at its main entrance, which makes it good for touring the fairy-tale doll exhibits with young grandchildren.

400 Seats and Parking for 100 Cars Ease a Big Family's Meal Worries
On a trip with a large family, the trickiest hurdle is clearly mealtime. Small alley restaurants are hard to park at or have long waits, so elders and children tire easily.
Gyegok Garden at 470 Geumgang-ro, Gaejeong-myeon, has a free parking lot for 100 cars and 400 spacious seats. The main entrance has no step, and it has accessible parking spaces and restrooms. Its mild soy-marinated crab meal made with medicinal herbs comes with blue crab stew, so it is easy to please all ages.

Building a Three-Generation Day That Saves Energy
Around 10:00, rent a stroller or wheelchair at the Modern History Museum and tour the indoor exhibits on floors 1–3. For lunch, drive 15 minutes to Gyegok Garden and eat in its spacious hall.
In the afternoon, split the course by weather. On a clear day, stroll slowly through Gyeongam-dong Railroad Village and along the deck road of Eunpa Lake Park Mulbit Bridge. On a windy or rainy day, head to the Geumgang Future Experience Center or the Teddy Bear Museum. Either way, the whole family can fill the day without strain.
